BUDWEISER CAMPAIGN/ DDB LONDON : LIONS WINNER AT CANNES
The campaign we shot for Budweiser through DDB London picked up a bronze in Promo & Activation category at Cannes. Well done to Rob Messiter and all his team at DDB London.

We’ve been developing a new website at www.leepowers.com for a while and thought it was a great time to launch with the wave of new work thats just published. The website essentially is navigated by the picture thumbnails and you can then group the images by their tags that appear below the images, for example, if you hit the advertising tag, all the advertising will group together, the same for studio, and just about anything via a tag, you can then copy the link and email it around, so its just like creating a custom PDF or light-box.
TINIE TEMPAH : PROJECT MAGAZINE
Mr Tinie Tempah was on a flying visit to New York via The Conan Show, Jay Leno and The Letterman Show, we managed to grab him for a few hours and shoot him for the cover of Project Magazine over at Root studios in Brooklyn.

We had a great shoot with Kanye for his first album, understandably he was very picky about what he would wear, he was very involved in the shoot despite just getting off the red eye. Was all shot on the trusty old Linhof Technika Kardon and 5*4 film, those were the days..!

BUDWEISER – DDB LONDON
DDB London commissioned Lee to work on their new campaign for Budweiser. They have this amazing concept based around the weather, essentially the warmer the weather is, the less you pay for a pint of Budweiser and theres also an offer of a free beer of if tops a certain temperature, full details on http://www.icecoldindex.ie/. There will be another 3 executions on this campaign which will be released further in to the summer, be sure to check back for these updates.
BMW VCD : PROJECT MAGAZINE
PROJECT MAGAZINE commissioned Lee to travel to Munich, Germany to shoot a new concept car from BMW called the Vision Connect Drive. The car essentially has an amazing array of technology. The car can park itself, not just into a tight spot but around the corner, just order the car to come back at the same time you order the check in a restaurant and it will be waiting for you outside. Drive past a music venue and it will download and play their playlist, be taken poorly at the wheel, the car will pull safely over to the side of the road and call an ambulance… Lee worked with the guys over at 66 London for the short visual effects moving image piece and we’re also working on another project for Mercedes, be sure to check back soon to see the posting.

JENSON BUTTON – FHM COLLECTIONS
FHM Collections commissioned Lee to shoot the Formula 1 racer Jenson Button for their Spring 2011 issue. Lee has shot Jenson twice in the past, including a previous cover of British Esquire, we have to say he’s a great guy and we got on extremely well as we did the first and second occasions. For this shoot Jensons time was very limited and we only had 30 mins of actual shooting time, we both wanted to carry on, but understandably his management swiftly moved him on to his next appointment. Anyhow, we hope to work with Jenson once again in the future and wish him well for the current F1 season.

MENS FASHION : BRITISH ESQUIRE
Lee was in London to shoot the stars of the current BBC drama Upstairs Downstairs, Ed Stoppard and Nico Mirallegro. We had a great day working once again with the lovely Fashion Director of Esquire Catherine Hayward.

PEUGEOT 308 GTI – EURO RSCG BETC PARIS
We traveled to Paris recently to shoot the new campaign for the Peugeot 308 GTI and 308 for the agency EURO RSCG BETC. We had a great crew helping us at Peugeots own facility in Paris. Red cars are always a little tricky to shoot as red doesn’t particularly handle graduations very well, however, i was happy to work once again with Martin over at Zerone NYC, we have worked on many projects together including a Ferrari studio project, where we gained lots of experience with the red cars. Thanks also to the creatives Thomas Renaudin + Vincent Lesné and the art Buyer Christine Leffers for speaking such wonderful English.
LAND ROVER SKI CAMPAIGN – Y + R NEW YORK
Y&R in New York commissioned Lee to shoot the new Ski campaign for Land Rover. We created a small snowy landscape in the studio and the skiers are to be comped into a stock image. We remember about 6 years ago we went to the Swiss alps to shoot something similar, technology now means we can stay in the comfort of an air conditioned studio and not have to hike up the mountain with all the gear…!
